How do you know who you should pick to be in your ministry?

This question was posted in gospelmime.ning.com's forum by R.J. Mime

How do you know who you should pick to be in your ministry?

New Xpression Mime: The bible says, how can two walk together if they not agree. Your partner(s) in ministry must not only align up with your Spirit, but coroporately you must be aligned with the word and Spirit of God so that Ministry can go forth corporately and effectively under the Anointing through the Ministry.

My Group Story
When I began miming at the age of 13, I belonged to a group ("Represent") of about seven which included my sister.  We were new to the idea of ministering through mime and so we ran into a few issues.  My sister and I became a duo when Represent dissolved.  We had an awesome run as a team but life happens and we dissolved our group (Temporarily I Pray).  When I changed churches (True Bethel Baptist Church) I joined the mime ministry there and later helped reorganized the ministry and we called the group:
Radical Anointed Praise Mime (R.A.P. Mime)
R.A.P. had an awesome run as well.  However, because the group was large (7-10 members), members grew up, went to college, had children, and just lost interest, we disbanded.
Thankfully Pastor Ali and myself have continued the legacy of R.A.P.  We have found a bond and connection because we don't have to deal with different personalities and spirits.  (Not to mention our birthdays are a day apart 12/30-12/31)
If you  solo mime, duo mime, or group mime make sure all spirits are aligned.

Triple "G" Mime (God's Given Gift)

Triple "G" Mime—God's Given Gift—was birthed out of South Bend, Indiana in 2005 under the leadership of Monté McGill, Sr. and Greater Mt. Calvary MB Church. Originally, the group consisted of four members. Today, Triple "G" Mime contains three of the original members. In January 2006, Triple "G" Mime merged with another mime ministry—known as Sons of David—which began at New Life Fellowship Ministry, located in South Bend, Indiana. The fusion of these two groups sparked the beginning of All Eyes Up Ministries which was inspired by visionary David McKissic. As the group went through membership changes, the leadership also changed. Currently, Triple "G" Mime is under the leadership of David McKissic and the management of All Eyes Up Ministries. The management group, All Eyes Up Ministries, is covered by Apostle and Prophetess Givens of New Horizons Outreach Ministries, located in South Bend, Indiana. Today, Triple "G" Mime has a total of seven members. Triple "G" Mime has found themselves amongst that of Gospel Greats including K & K Mime, Pastor Bobby Jones, Rance Allen, Shirley Murdock, YPJ & FVC, Ron Bishop and Judah First Chorale, and Youthful Praise. Triple "G" Mime has shared the stage with other eminent members of the Body of Christ. This wide range of people does not stop at great Gospel music, but goes on to encompass Holy Hip Hop artists such as those of Cross Movement Records which includes Da T.R.U.T.H., Tedashii, Flame, Everyday Process, and more! Since the formation of the ministry, Triple "G" Mime has grown and become increasingly sensitive to the voice of God. Because their spirits are receptive to God's direction, they have found new and innovative ways to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all ages through mime. This group of young ministers do not simply mime, but have a passion to deliver the Word of God. Each member of Triple "G" Mime is a spiritual warrior declaring a state of emergency on the lives of both believers and non-believers. They boldly declare war on the Kingdom of Darkness and intercede for those of their generation. Triple "G" Mime firmly believes in 1 Timothy 4:12, "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (NIV)." Triple "G" Mime is a group of dimensional thinkers and worshippers with a desire to tap into another level of anointing and excellence!

The Ministry of R.A.P. Mime

Radical Anointed Praise Mime is a ministry within True Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo, NY under the teaching of Darius G. Pridgen. R.A.P consists of several members but currently includes Minister Shareef Ali II and Raynardo Shedrick Jr. The group has found inspiration and in-direct guidance from the founders of Gospel Mime "K&K Mime." R.A.P has traveled and ministered throughout Buffalo, Rochester, Toronto, Baltimore, NewYork and Niagara Falls. No church is too small nor too big for R.A.P. Because of the teachings of Pastor Pridgen, R.A.P has never been satisfied with doing the mininium but, as the TBBC 2006 motto says, R.A.P wants to "Do The Impossible." With this motto in mind R.A.P decided to conduct a tour, entitled "TOUR DE MIME," of their ministry to any church/organization that will have them. September 17, in Baltimore, Maryland at Empowerment Temple with Pastor Jamal Bryant, was the the first stop of their tour. God is truly taking this ministry to new heights. If you would like R.A.P to minister to you call TBBC at 716-895-8222

Makeup for Mimes

A question was posted in gospelmime.ning.com's forum about the right type of makeup for mimes.

According to Barbi Harris of Jehovah-Jireh Mime:  KRYOLON,BEN-NYE,MEHRON ARE THE 3 BEST PROFESSIONAL QUALITY GREASE BASED FACE PAINTS USED BY MIMES AND CLOWNS AND ALL ARE SIMILAR IN QUALITY...YOU CAN ORDER ONLINE IF THERE`ARE NO STORES NEAR YOU.....EACH MAY HAVE A SLIGHTY DIFFERENT FEEL ON YOUR FACE DEPENDING ON YOUR PREFERENCE,WEATHER (REALLY HUMID, DRY ECT) THE BEN-NYE IS A BIT THICKER IN TEXTURE AND KRYOLAN IS VERY SMOOTH AND IS GREAT AS WELL...YOU SHOULD BUY 1 SMALL ONE OF EACH TO TRY THEM OUT SO YOU FIND THE BEST THAT WORKS WITH YOUR FACE AND SKIN. ENJOY!

Barbi Harris of Jehovah-Jireh Mime

My mime partner and I use Mehron Clown White Makeup.  We have never used a base to make it easier to take off.  However after watching videos and looking at different discussions on gospelmime.ning.com we may change our ways.  Whatever you do please do not use makeup from places like Party City, Target, or Wal-Mart meant for halloween.  When we first started out we made that mistake and found that the makeup will crack on you, leave you looking like a ghoul, and it makes you feel like you need the relief of a ton of lotion on your face.  Below you will find a video on how Chosen Mime Ministry applies makeup.

Mime(s) of the Day

Rashida Reives

Rashida Reives born in Jamaica Queens NY, moved to North Carolina at a very young age. She has always had a passion for the Lord and Ministry of the Arts. Rashida earned her B.A. degree in Speech Pathology from NC A&T SU and M.A. Degree from NC Central University. She was first introduced the to the Ministry of Mime 5 years ago, where she served on the New Jerusalem Cathedral Mime Ministry. One year later God elevated her into the position of leadership and changed the name from NJC Mime Ministry to I.M.I.M.E.( Immanuel Moves In Me Eternally). God began to speak to her about the Ministry of Mime through prophetic visions, dreams and interpretations. She wanted people to not only see, but feel the anointing and the power of God that is released through Mime. Rashida went on a mission to seek and learn more about the Ministry of Mime and was divinely connected to the Paneh Mime Ministries. Through Paneh Mime Ministries she received intensive teaching, training and ministry development. One year later she was invited to join the Paneh Mime Troop under the leadership of Pastor Timothy & Chandra Midgette. She has been ministering with the Paneh Troop for 4 years, and also serves as a Mime instructor for the Paneh Mime Conferences. After ministering for years with I.M.I.M.E., God spread her wings and birthed Ministry -N- Me, her delicate mime ministry. Ministry-N-Me mission is to birth and establish other mime ministries, conduct mime workshops, training sessions and to open up an avenue of networking opportunities with other Mime Ministries. She has also had the awesome opportunity to minister with K&K Mime at their 1st Annual Gospel World Wide Workshop in Pittsburgh, PA. One of her many goals (which has already been birthed) is to establish a fellowship between Gospel Mime Ministries Nationally and Internationally, where we all can provide guidance, support, resources, and prayer to aspiring and established mime ministries. She currently attends Kingdom Builders Christian Center in Durham NC, under the Pastoral Leadership and care of Pastor Timothy & Co-Pastor Chandra Midgette.

Mime(s) of the Day

Paneh Mime Ministries
Pastors Timothy and Chandra Midgette

In Hebrew, the word Paneh {paw-neh'} means "In his presence".

The mission of Paneh Mime Ministry:
To usher in the very presence of God through mime-dance. For in the presence of God there is fullness of joy, and at his right hand, there are pleasures forever more (Psalm 16:11).

The ministerial and business visionaries of Paneh Mime Ministries, Timothy and Chandra Midgette, have ministered to thousands around the globe. These trailblazers are the founders of The Paneh Center of Durham, a facility that enhances and equips dance-mime ministries throughout North Carolina. These instructional, hands-on workshops have catapulted the birth of countless mime ministries across the nation and abroad. During a recent mission trip to Fiji, God allowed Paneh to introduce the ministry of mime to people of Fiji. As a result, several churches in Fiji have embraced mime as a part of their arts ministry.

Timothy and Chandra served as youth pastors for several years. Recently, God ordered their steps to begin a new work -- Kingdom Builder's Christian Center in Durham, North Carolina. God continues to use these "preacher-mimers" as an outreach to the youth and young adults in North Carolina and abroad. Pastors Tim and Chandra are committed to the educational and spiritual growth and development of Now Generation.

The Paneh Mime husband and wife team silently ministers the word of God through dramatic gestures and animated facial expressions. Each ministry presentation ministers a message of salvation, deliverance, and hope. The goal of the ministry is to lift up the name of the Lord, so that He would draw all men unto himself.

Paneh has traveled throughout the United States as well abroad. God has blessed this ministry to minister overseas in England and the Fiji Islands. God has opened doors for this ministry to minister on the same platforms as Kirk Franklin, Shirley Caesar, Luther Barnes, Norman Hutchins, Rodney Bryant, Rance Allen, Hezekiah Walker, and Dorothy Norwood.

The Fathers of Gospel Mime: K & K Mmie

The ministry of K & K Mime is an inspiration for mimes and fans across the world.  K & K Mime is the reason why I ventured into the artform.

Born and raised in  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the trials and hardships of foster care and eventually adoption this dynamic duo rose from the obscurity of what could be viewed as a tragic beginning to a triumphant life and ministry in Christ.  The K’s became fascinated with the idea mime and began using the art form as an escape and a sense of security in a fast paced and changing environment.  The hustle and bustle of being moved from house to house and shelter to shelter only fueled their dreams and determination of doing something larger than life.  Their creative abilities and relentless efforts have afforded them to work with such notable recording artist including but not limited to Fred Hammond, Vickie Winans, Dr. Bobby Jones, CeCe Winans, Kirk Franklin, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams and the list goes on and on.
K&K has had the distinct privilege to perform before the legendary historic hero Mrs. Rosa Parks, Television sitcom’s Martin’s Tommy Ford, Boys To Men, BeBe Winans, and the classic “Sanford and Sons” Demond Wilson.  They appeared as guest with MC Hammer on the Hammer Time Show aired on TBN(Trinity Broadcast Network).
These identical twins silently interpret contemporary Gospel music with dramatic gestures and animated facial expressions, portraying man’s resistance of life’s evil temptations and His transformation from doubter to believer.  K & K Mime Ministry wants to ensure that their message will transcend every generation.
As young adults, they are particularly concerned about the issues and temptations that the youth face today.  Keith and Karl orchestrate their own choreography with expression that touches the heart, mind, and spirit.  Through their innovative work, these artistic brothers have enhanced and expanded the Gospel ministries of churches, universities, youth events, national concerts, tours, conventions, conferences, ect.
They are not only mime ministers, but have served as “fathers” and trail blazers as mime is relative to the Gospel ministry.
An added dimension of their ministry is that they both not only silently interpret the Gospel message but they both are preachers of the good news.  Karl is the founder and senior pastor of Millennial Reign Family Worship Center in Pittsburgh PA, and Keith is the assistant Pastor.

Their ministry in the fore mentioned areas, along with their instructional workshops have also catapulted the birth of mime ministries across the nation.  Some of their most requested pieces are, “STAND”, “OH WHAT LOVE”, “NOW BEHOLD THE LAMB”, and “WE FALL DOWN”.

K & K have made special appearances on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show, which is aired on Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T.).  They’ve appeared twice on “Teen Summit”. And Lift Every Voice.  K&K are also familiar faces on The Word Network.  K&K has made several appearances with Bishop T. D. Jakes,’ and Bishop Paul Morton.  Touring with the hit Gospel musical “Saints, Aint’s, & Wannabes” expanded gospel musical performances to a new level of energy and ministry.  K & K completed a two-week tour of Japan with Gospel recording artist Pastor Daryl Coley and a nationally renowned tour with Kirk Franklin and The Family, Ms. Yolanda Adams and Fred Hammond and R.F.C., which was adequately named “The Tour of Life”.  They are currently touring with the UniverSoul Circus, for schedule information log onto http://www.kkmime.com// They have ministered in Jamaica with Reverend Jackie McCullough, and They are featured on “The Williams Brothers” live video, entitled “The Concert”, along with Dr. Juanita Bynum and Bishop Carlton Pearson, which was released in the year 2000.  K & K completed their own recording entitled “ON THE ROAD WITH K & K MIME”, which was released in 2003. They have released their newest project “No Restraints Keepin the Worship Alive” October 31, 2004,
They will be soon releasing their newest project “All Access the Secrets Behind Gospel Mime” Volume 1 their first instructional DVD on how to do Gospel mime.
K&K are the establishmentarians of both The Marmont Group and Mind Of A Mime Film Company.  The Marmont Group is a management team whose main objective is to free ministerial personnel and artist of burdensome responsibilities allowing them to concentrate on what they do best.  T.MG. Provides upscale executive management insuring a level of class and distinction for the minister and or artist.  The Mind Of A Mime Film Company is a team of producers whose objective is to scout new gospel mime talent in an effort to keep the industry of gospel mime in the public eye.  K&K’s life message is that there is salvation and hope in Jesus and He alone is the answer to everything in life.

K&K Mime-Stand

Preaching and Singing is that it?

For all of you who are not open to other forms of worship in the church check this out.

In the Old Testament, Ezekiel was a prophet that was called to announce God’s judgment on Israel, and other nations, and to proclaim restoration for God’s people. His preaching was not well received by the Jews who were with him in captivity, Chapter 3, so God gave Ezekiel many methods, illustrations and demonstrations to help get the message across to the Jews, Chapter 4,5. Ezekiel acted out most of the methods, and did illustrations for Israel. Israel later became restored again and God renewed the Temple and a New Jerusalem, Chapter 40.
Ministering Mime is interpreting gospel music, using illustrations and non-verbal methods to allow the congregation to understand what you are doing, just like Ezekiel demonstrated in the Old Testament.

Gospel Mime History

Mrs. Donna Darwin Ilochi, a Born Again Christian from the north side, was lying on her bed one evening meditating upon a talent she could do for Parent’s night at the Christian Temple Academy. While listening to a Gospel tape by Larnell Harris and praying, she saw a vision of a person doing creative movements to a gospel song with a white pained face, flowing black clothing loosely fitted and white gloves. She also saw a spotlight upon the person. This was the vision for the mime ministry, but not the same as Marcel Marceau, the founder of mining. Instead, the Lord showed her a mixture of sign language and mime. It was similar to a Hawaiian dance, telling a story with your hands. It was the acting out of words to a song, giving the visual effect. We have been Traditionally preached to and sung to so much, but she saw a need for a different way of communicating the gospel through creative worship called miming. After viewing Mrs. Ilochi’s performances during the year of 1982 at Christian temple church in Pittsburgh, Rev John T. Davidson Jr. who was the Youth Director at Christian Temple church, caught the miming ministry as a tool of ministry forGena and Rev. Davidson the members of his youth church. With the assistance of Marie Jones, Tracey Williams and Dorian Thomas, Rev. Davidson developed a mime ministry which he later called, The Creative Expressions. Before Rev. Davidson received the call to pastor in McKeesport, Pa, The Creative Expressions Mime Ministry of Christian Temple made several appearances including two television recordings. Rev. Davidson continued his vision for miming in McKeesport, PA.
